Description Prevention of possible negative impacts of climate change is now concentrating either on mitigation (reducing greenhouse gas emissions) or on adaptation (e.g. changes in landscape). Efficiency of both these policies are put in question in several studies. If consequences of climate change grow substantialy and mitigation and adaptation will not be sufficient an alternative strategy could occur. So called geoengineering focuses on intentional modification of the climate in order to reduce negative impacts on the environment and human societies. What are the dangers and how efficient are these three policies? What can the discourse itself can tell us? Policy analysis method and securitization theory will be applied in the text.
