Course of the Modern Greek Language - Pre-Intermediate (in Czech)

The course is designed to enable students to acquire the fundamentals of Modern Greek and to be able to engage in simple conversations in the language

covering the present, future, and past tenses. Learners work with contemporary conversational textbooks, with a strong emphasis on communication skills. However, all fundamental language skills are practised, including listening and reading comprehension, as well as spoken and basic written expression. Basic topics (personal information, family, restaurants) are further developed, and new ones are introduced (travel, shopping, etc.). As part of the language instruction, students are also introduced to Greek culture and current affairs, gaining an overall awareness of present-day Greece.

The course is intended for all those with knowledge of Modern Greek at approximately A1 level. It is suitable for graduates of the Greek for Beginners course within the Lifelong Learning Programme at Masaryk University. For others, we recommend an orientation placement test and an appointment with the program guarantor (Nicole Votavová Sumelidisová, nicole.votavova@mail.muni.cz).
