The essence of the project is to prepare a monograph on a film director and scriptwriter Ivan Passer. I intend to deal with the life and work of an artist who one of the foremost authors of the ´Czech film miracle´ of 60s and who has lived in the USA sin ce 1969. My aim is to illuminate and explain Passer´s remarkeble but underestimated personality and consequently contribute to the general recognition and appreciation of a film director virtually unknown so far. In connection with this I want to deal wi th exile ingeneral, especially in Czech-American context.
