Public Fine Art Discursus conference is conceived as the first professional meeting of fine arts doctor programmes participants from Brno universities and from schools falling within the joint arts education doctor programme (Prague, Brno, Ústí n. L.). The very conference and related publications will concentrate on communication through art in public, but also on the issue of art mediation to the public. Thematic delimitation corresponds with doctor programmes’ focus (e.g. Faculty of Fine Arts has special doctor programme called Artwork in Public).

Results

Results of the conference were more valuable, compared to planned intentions, and its course was more eventful thanks to participation of remarkable characters, such as Rudolfinum Gallery director and world-renowned artist Hermann Nitsch. About 200 students of master studies participated in conference’s individual parts, many of them as co-organizers. The most important output is specialized book following the issue, which has not been described entirely in any other book publication in the Czech Republic, so far.
