The goal of the project is research into political violence and terrorism in the Czech Republic. The project will analyse potential and threat of individuals and groups which either use violence or terrorism or threaten to use them. The project will concentrate on violent activities and strategies of extremists of various orientation that are active on Czech territory. Attention will be paid to violence and terrorism in relationship with right-wing extremism, left-wing extremism, religious extremism and ethnic extremism (including extremism of foreigners). Political dimension of criminal, pathological and "single-issue" terrorism and violence will also be characterized. Global tendencies of development of political violence and terrorism will be described including their impact on security of the Czech Republic. Part of the project is also policy-analysis of anti-terrorist and anti-violent policy. The project will result in a series of articles in scientific periodicals and a monography which will completely explain the whole issue and will help to understand these phenomena.
