The objective of the project is drawing a characteristic of reign in the final phase of the Premyslid period and its links with the different social structures, i e nobility, clergy, towns and subjects. Research shall be extended to personalities who had an impact on the character of the court during the reign of Wenceslas II. and were involved in policy making, as well as to the prevailing cultural trends of the time. The objective of the project as such is to generate a concise view of the Czech centr e of power as a "workshop of ideas and conceptions" leading to political success of a high medieval, central European monarchy.
