The substance of the project is the examination of area of private international law including civil procedure after the adoption of the Amsterdam Treaty, namely:- relationship between conflict of law rules contained in EC directives and developments of uniform law,- further developments in establishing uniform law (Brussels Convention II, conflict of laws concerning torts,- conventions in the field of judicial co-operation on the basis of Art. K.3 of the Maastricht Treaty, -developments of the existing uniform rules.The purpose of the project is to identify the current state of the legal regulation and jurisprudence in order to:a)acquire information on the current legal regulation in EC member states in relation to the future accession of the Czech Re public to the EC, b) elaborate proposals for the revision of the Private International Law Act (97/63 Sb.) from the point of view of its compatibility with the EC Law in this field.
