The proposed project focuses on the characteristics of political topics. Drawing on the concept
of "hard" and "easy" political issues (Carmines and Stimson 1980), it experimentally examines
how the properties of political issues (such as their familiarity, technicality, or their symbolic
nature) influence the properties of political attitudes (such as the accessibility of attitudes, their
certainty, or their ambiguity) that individuals form towards them. The project adopts an
experimental research perspective in its investigation, with the use of eyetracking data
collection techniques making a special methodological contribution.
