The project “Innovation for practice – Journalism”, registration number: CZ.1.07/2.2.00/07.0458 is co-financed by the European Social Fund and the state budget of the Czech Republic. The project deals with innovation of studying programmes of the Department of Jurnalism. The main purpose of the project is to prepare students for their jobs in the changing circumstances of the labour market in this area, because more and more employers search journalists who manage to do multimedial job in all areas (audio, video, on-line text). The output of the Project is number of studying courses focused on practical knowledge and skills and the practices for potential employers. These improvements will increase competitiveness of the students at the labour market. The partner of The Project is the biggest employer in this field in the Czech Republic: Vltava Labe Press, a.s., who provide practices for the students and evaluate the quality of their preparedness for new demands in the area of multimedial skills.

Results

The aim of the project was an innovation in teaching journalism full-time bachelor's degree in order to graduate profile met the current market requirements and respected latest trends in the content of media and technological development. To this end, we managed to innovate and introduce new total of 19 courses and 52 workshops implemented by domestic and foreign lecturers. During the project passed all courses of a total of 1,616 students and 230 students successfully completed their studies field. The successful outcome of the project is to create a web platform for training media and radio studios, as well as the creation of 12 study materials for individual courses and two-part edition publication New Trends in the Media I, II. The project was purchased technology and audiovisual equipment, software and literature, everything you need for successful innovation of teaching. An important aspect of the project was its link with practice, were an integral part of a three-month internship students in the media. Their success is the fact that more than seventy percent of the trainees received an offer of further cooperation or employment.
