The proposed project of the Czech Dictionary of Musicians and Musical Institutions (CDMMI) follows the tradition of specialised lexicographical works on the music culture of the Czech lands. Its aim is to record the music culture of the Czech lands. Its aim is to record the music scene again after forty years since the last work of this type was published. CDMMI will bring in several editorial stages cca 16000 entries dealing with all relevant subjects, which represent the past and the present of music culture in the Czech lands. The proposed grant project is to support the first stage. This stage should cover elaboration of complete list of entries (however more entries may be added), instructions for writing entries within each category, a file of ex ample entries and a file of aprox. 5000 entries which will be selected according to the stage of elaboration.
