Description The matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry (MALDI MS) imaging of biological tissues is a rapidly evolving technique with immerse potential in the field of molecular physiology. It is possible to speed up slow MS imaging analysis employing a fast and precise laser beam scanning across the surface of a sample. Laboratory-built axial MALDI TOF mass spectrometer equipped with desorption laser beam scanning mirror and 4-kHz laser recorded MS image with 10 000 pixels 11.1 minutes.
