| Description | The word "Photocatalysis" is composed of two words: photo = light = and catalysis process, which is characterized in that a substance known as a catalyst facilitates the reaction rate. Photocatalysis occurs on the surface of semiconductors. Theory and practice of photocatalysis is a typical interdisciplinary field, including physics, chemistry, biology, environmental sciences, etc. Its theory is based on several pillars, of which three were presented in more detail: the theory and practice of surface tension of liquids and surface energy of solids, catalysis overview and the basics of semiconductor physics. Conclusion discusses the photocatalysis and the possibilities of its use in the field of environmental improvement. Practical unit has a research character.
