Description The article compares selected socio-demographic and professional role´s attributes of three generations of Czech journalists actually working in the Czech media. These generations we defined as: pre-transitive (born before 1970), transitive (born between 1970-1985) and post-transitive (born after 1990). Quantitative analysis including cluster analysis indicates no sharp attitudinal differences among all compared generation, in spite of a radical socio-political changes after 1989. Generally speaking, comparison of selected attributes showed striking homogeneity among the three journalistic generations who share above all their professional values, and liberal and right wing political values. There are also some partial differences, especially concerning rejection of commercialization of journalistic profession by the youngest post-transitional generation.
