Description Public libraries are regarded in the applicable law as cultural institutions that pursue public interest by controlling significant information assets. Their operations are, besides other parts of the legal system, subject also to rules regulating freedom of information and re-use of public sector information. This paper analyses the impact of recently amended Czech Freedom of Information Act and discusses specific legal issues related to the processing of digital offprints and to the digitisation of stored books.
