Description The paper deals with the research focused on the relation between academic achievement motivation, school achievement and test anxiety. The data were collected from 231 pupils of the second grade of elementary school. Questionnaire of academic achievement motivation by V. Hrabal, I. Pavelková (2011) and KSAT scale by O. Kondáš (1973) were used for the research. The results showed that boys and girls do not differentiate either in level of test anxiety or level of achievement motivation. It was discovered that pupils suffering from test anxiety and pupils tending to suffer from test anxiety are (unlike their not suffering from test anxiety classmates) motivated especially by the need to avoid failure.
