Description | Participation has become part of the development of public spaces in most cities. Involving residents in the development of their streets, parks and squares becomes an emancipation process under suitable conditions. At the same time, setting up the whole process is crucial. On the one hand, the process can be emancipatory on the other hand, it can become frustrating and just "on the eye" created. The analysis of the participation manuals from Vienna and Prague will compare the settings of these processes in both cities and also the approach to more inclusive forms of democracy. The result is not only influenced by the different cultures of the two environments, but also by the inspiration of the Prague manual by the Viennese one. |
