Description The text charts the life of the Benedictine and priest Metoděj Antonín Jedlička (1918–1981) from the monastery in Rajhrad via Mauthausen concentration camp and Rtyně v Podkrkonoší prison to a settled existence at the parish of Jílové u Prahy. It tracks the transformation of the idealistic novice and brave resistance fighter into an unstable, fearful, internally conflicted State Security agent with the code name Jenda, searching in vain for a way out of forced collaboration. It analyses the coercive handling strategies of the State Security and specifies agent Jedlička’s actions within the Catholic milieu.
