| Description | The contribution deals with the issue of legal regulation of one of the crimes against life and health - specifically the crime of manslaughter. The paper aims to place this crime in the context of the constitutional protection of the right to life. The introductory part contains general interpretations concerning the history of the issue of protection of human life by means of criminal law. The following is a more detailed analysis of the facts of the crime of manslaughter and its characteristics. The final part then deals with the question of whether the protection of human life through the legal regulation of this crime is sufficient or not and also deals with some considerations de lege ferenda. The contribution was inspired by the diploma thesis of its author, which was devoted to the comparison of the crimes of murder and manslaughter, especially from the perspective of the decision-making practice of the Czech courts. |
