Description Despite the expansion of new data sources (big data, social networks, etc.), the survey remains one of the key tools of the social sciences. However, this method has been suffering for some time from declining response rates and rising costs, which are trends that have been significantly accelerated by the pandemic. Thus, the need to innovate the survey methodology is becoming increasingly urgent. One of the relevant innovations is the so-called mixed-mode design, i.e. a combination of several data collection methods (telephone, personal, online, and other forms of interviews) to obtain one data file. This workshop focuses on the ongoing results of the TAČR methodological project focused on mixed-mode data collection in the Czech environment, its discussion, and implementation of its findings. Special attention will be paid to the quality of the obtained data and the effect of the fashion, i.e. the comparability of data collected online and in person.
