| Description | The paper discusses Marian theme in the work of Jakub Deml and his younger contemporary Jaroslav Durych. These authors are connected by several similarities. Not only did they share the same socio-historical context of life, but both also studied theology and were active members of the group around Josef Florian. This raises the question of whether and how Catholicism is reflected in their literary works. The paper deals with the thematic level of the conception of the personality of the Virgin Mary, which has been a source of religious inspiration in art, music and literature for centuries. It also includes a comparison of the typical motivic and thematic features manifested in the works of these authors. |
