Description This article examines the image of young people in works about Novosibirsk by some contemporary writers. After the characterization of the Russian young man of the post-Soviet period as a whole, there follows a description of some characteristics that are typical for the resident of Novosibirsk. Then the analysis of the selected works is presented, and the identification of similar characteristics of a young person from different authors follows. All authors depict a young man from the 90s to early 2000s. The descriptions of young people by the selected authors mostly coincide. The resulting image of Novosibirsk youth, however, is not in any way special. The young Novosibirsk resident does not differ from the youth of other post-Soviet Russian cities.
