Description The tourmaline-corundum association at the Beluga locality (Nunavut territory, Canada) is a new occurence of oxy-dravite, in a composition near its ideal end-member. Oxy-dravite, that commonly occurs in a solid solution with foitite, schorl, and oxy-schorl, is a member of the sodic group of the tourmaline supergroup with the dominant anion at the W-site. Since its original description (Bosi and Skogby, 2013) from the quartz-muscovite schist from Osarara (Narok district, Kenya), the mineral has been found at several localities worldwide, typically in metamorphic environments (Čopjaková et al., 2012; Cempírek et al., 2013; Pieczka et al., 2018). This contribution reports the occurrence, and physical and structural properties of oxy-dravite with a near-endmember composition from the Beluga locality. The main aim of this work was to improve characterisation of properties of the oxy-dravite end-member, specify the interpretation of Al-Mg disorder between Y- and Z-sites, and also assess its petrogenetic significance.
