Description | The climate movement has managed to mobilize the world’s youth. How effective has it been at increasing the importance of nature protection among bystanders? This article examines almost two decades of the European Social Survey data, finding that the 2018-2019 climate protests may have increased the salience of environmental protection among young Western Europeans. Since young Eastern European attitudes already were more pro-environmental, the protests may have unified Europe’s youth, with implications for Europe’s sustainable future. |
