| Description | This post aims to present the results of specific research conducted at the Faculty of Education of Masaryk University, focusing on how lower-grade students of a multi-year gymnasium understand and perceive the mathematical concept of infinity. Data collection was carried out through observation and interviews during a workshop in which students independently solved tasks related to infinity. The research sample consisted of 16 students aged 11 to 14 years. The findings indicate that each of the participating students has encountered the issue of infinity at some point. It can be argued that, for the majority of them, there is a prevailing potential understanding of infinity. |
