| Description | The results of surveys conducted in recent years at the Lower and Upper Castles in Rožmberk nad Vltavou have significantly advanced our understanding of the original appearance and architectural development of this medieval monument. Archaeological research in the inner courtyard of the Lower Castle has uncovered remnants of medieval structures that were demolished during the conversion into a Renaissance chateau. Non-destructive surveys of the Upper Castle conducted in 2025 and 2026 made it possible to locate the core of the medieval castle, the last remnants of which were lost during renovations in the early modern period. |
