Description Since 1992, when a new synthetic approach employing surfactants for the preparation of mesoporous materials was discovered, this research area is in the center of attention. We used in the preparation of new mesoporous materials an anionic geminal surfactant C12H25OPO(OH)(OCH2CH2)3OPO(OH)OC12H25 (I), obtained by the reaction of POCl3 with triethyleneglycol and subsequent substitution of Cl atoms by dodecanolates and hydroxides, and an anionic surfactant CH3(CH2)11N[CH2P(O)(OH)2]2 (II), prepared by the Mannich reaction of primary dodecylamine with formaldehyde and phosphonic acid. Surfactants (I) and (II) were characterized by 1H, 31P, 13C-NMR and 31P MAS-NMR spectroscopy, X-ray powder diffraction, thermal and elemental analyses, mass spectrometry and IR spectroscopy. From the dependece of the surface tension on concentration, we established the critical micellar concentration of the surfactant I at (2,2 +/- 0,5) . 10-4 mol.l-1. Using homogeneous precipitation method with urea, we prepared mesoporous materials from Al, Zr, Cr, Cu, and Co salts. The resulting products were characterized by 27Al and 31P MAS-NMR spectroscopy, X-ray powder diffraction, thermal and elemental analyses, and IR spectroscopy. So far we were not able to remove the template from the pores without the mesostructure collapse.
