Description The paper, presented at a scientific seminar on social pathology of Masaryk Czech Sociological Society, gives information on the research project that aims at theoretical and empirical analysis of women's criminality in the Czech Republic. Its issues were compared with relevant data of Slovak sentenced women research in Nitra prison with using the same questionnaire as well. First, the paper is concentrated on crucial characteristics of sentenced women: age, education, family, criminal behaviour, length of penalty etc. Nevertheless, the topic is focused on legal attitudes and value orientations of delinquent women in Czech-Slovak comparison. In the final part of the paper the attention was also paid to some outcomes of the inquiry after the period of one-year stay in prison aimed to find out the shift of values of sentenced women.
