Description Is the legal protection of a consumer in United States inadequate or exorbitant from a point of view of a European lawyer? The author of this article reveals his point of view to this and many of other questions regarding consumer protection statutory law in USA. He concentrates on the regulation of consumer credit protection and analyzes Consumer Credit Protection Act, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, and Regulation Z. Last but not least he also points out some of the aspects of the contemporary subprime mortgage crisis in the United States.
