Description Culture of tobbaco cell suspension BY-2 was cultivated in LS-medium enriched with 2,4-D under lab conditions. FLuoranthene was added in concentrations 0, 0.5, 5 and 15 uM. During 6 days of cultivation daily changes of following parameters were assessed: cell number, morphogenesis and viability, production of ACC, ethylene, ethane and CO2, content of ABA, proteins and GST. Increasing concentration of FLT caused decrease in cell viability, inhibition of cell division and their number, lowering of water content in cells. During the exponential phase growth, higher production of ethylene and CO2 was found in all treatments except FLT 15 uM, where the ethylene production was lowered. In control samples, the maximum production of ACC preceded the maximum of ethylene production. The content of ABA was very low.
