Description The legislation of the Czech Republic regulating employment and fight against unemployment is based on international standards adopted by international organisations dealing with human rights or engaging in the field of labour law and social security. The present paper deals with international instruments concerning social protection of unemployment, in particular social security and unemployment benefits, adopted by international law with respect to implementation of these instruments in the Czech law. It analyses the impact of standards contained in conventions of the International Labour Organisation and treaties of the Council of Europe that were ratified by the Czech Republic on the national legislation.
