Josef Dadok

Founder of nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR) in Czechoslovakia and a prominent international figure in the field. Josef Dadok contributed to the development of a wide range of spectrometers. After emigrating to the United States, he worked as director of the National NMR Centre and professor of chemical instrumentation at Carnegie Mellon University.

A proposal to grant an honorary degree of Doctor Honoris Causa in the field of Chemical Sciences was submitted by the Faculty of Science of Masaryk University. The graduation ceremony was held on 23 January 2013. A brochure introducing the nominee was issued on the occasion of the awarding of this honorary doctorate.
