How to apply
Application deadlines
- 1 January – 30 April (all faculties)
- 1 August – 30 November (faculty of Arts, Social Studies, Economics and Administration, Informatics)
How to submit application
The application is submitted electronically. This allows you to track your application’s status throughout the entire process. Fees associated with Masaryk University admission procedures are from 600 to 900 CZK, depending on the faculty, and are non-refundable.
To apply:
- Choose a field of study
- Fill out the entrance application
- Pay the application fee
Information on application submission following the application deadline is available from individual faculty offices for studies.
Admission requirements
Entrance examination – field-specific tests
Field-specific tests are mandatory for all Master’s studies applicants. They are implemented by faculties and will be further specified by e-mail.
Entrance examination dates at individual faculties are listed in a detailed schedule.
Recognition of foreign education
A certificate of recognition of foreign higher education and qualifications must be provided by students who earned a degree abroad. This official document ensures that your degree will be recognised in the Czech Republic (this does not apply to students from Germany, Hungary, Poland and Slovenia thanks to bilateral agreements on mutual recognition of educational qualifications). Please keep in mind that the entire recognition procedure may take up to 2 months.
Preparatory course
Masaryk University offers specialized one-year-long preparatory courses for students requiring additional language skills and Czech language training prior to seeking enrolment in a university degree programme taught in Czech.
Preparatory courses will help develop your Czech language skills in order to enable you to pursue the degree of your choice at Masaryk University. In addition to improving your level of Czech, these courses will also provide you with a better understanding of Czech society and culture.
Preparatory courses are aimed at three main student categories:
- Prospective students who have previously completed their secondary education abroad
- Prospective students who have previously obtained a
- Bachelor degree in their home country and are therefore eligible to apply for a Master’s degree programme;
- Prospective students who have already obtained a Master’s degree in their home country and are therefore eligible to apply for a doctoral degree programme.
