The project Contrastive Study of Non-Fiction (Expository) Texts integrates the research work of several workplaces at the Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University Brno. In concentrates on interlingual and intercultural study of the linguistic and stylistic structure of publicistic, legal, administrative and popular scientific texts. It deals with the differences in the understanding of style and stylistics in English Studies, Romance Studies, Germanic Studies, Czech Studies and Slavonic Studies, including the interpretation of basic, seemingly parallel terms, which should contribute to the mutual understanding of ideas and enable the researchers a uniform, or at least comparable, approach to the studied material.
