Description The author deals in his chapter with the right to a fair trial and more specifically with the right of the accused to translation and interpretation. He mentions “new” directive of the European Parliament and of the Council of 20th October 2010 on the right to interpretation and translation in criminal proceedings. Furthermore, he occupies himself with the adaption of the concerned right in the Czech domestic legal regulations. He analysis the Czech legislation and points out, that the current Czech legislation does not fully cover all the obligations arising from the mentioned directive. The author also marks out the possible misuse of the concerned right to cause delays in criminal proceedings.
