Description Chronic lymphocytic leukaemia has a remarkably heterogeneous clinical course. The diagnostic procedures and therapeutic interventions need to be individually tailored according to patient age, comorbidities and therapeutic aims. There have been crucial developments in prognostication and therapy in recent years (e.g., significance of TP53 mutations, introduction of novel monoclonal antibodies, B-cell receptor signalling and Bcl-2 inhibitors). Therefore, the Czech CLL Study Group, the working group of the Czech Haematological Society, has developed these updated guidelines to facilitate the decision-making process for diagnosis and treatment in clinical practice. The guidelines are based on a comprehensive analysis of current literature and the principles of evidence-based medicine.
