| Description | Aims of the project are: (i) testing a suitable management (including cattle grazing, mowing, pools construction) in order to increase the biodiversity and stop the expanction of exotic and invasive plant species expecting to favour the diversity of habitats and organisms reducing large homogeneous areas of reed vegetation; (ii) monitoring and comparing patches of habitats with and without management and assessing the biodiversity of wetland communities; (iii) assessing the impact of the implemented management on the biodiversity; (iv) formulating recommendations and outputs for public administrations, which will help the management of other wetlands that are endangered by long-term abandonment; (v) provide methodology for assessing the biodiversity of wetland communities. |
