What is the ISIC card for?
Full-time students can apply for an ISIC (International Student Identity Card) instead of a student ID card. There is no upper or lower age limit for obtaining an ISIC card. Click here for detailed information on ISIC eligibility.
The ISIC card entitles you to access to the canteen, the University-wide computer lab, the libraries and other places on campus, just like a student ID card. You can also take advantage of the ISIC card outside the university.
The ISIC Card within MU
The ISIC card is used to:
- identification of the student and his/her affiliation to MU,
- access to buildings and classrooms,
- access to the university's computer study room,
- access to libraries and borrowing books,
- paying for photocopying and printing in libraries and computer labs,
- paying in the canteens.
The ISIC card is valid at MU for the entire period of active study, just like a student ID card. If you return to MU after interrupting or completing your studies, the validity of your card will be renewed.
The ISIC Card outside MU
The ISIC card can also be used outside the university to claim student discounts.
These can be obtained, for example, in various restaurants, cafés, bakeries, outdoor shops, pharmacies, opticians, museums, galleries, Student Agency, some driving schools, bookstores, copy centres, etc. The ISIC card is valid in more than 100 countries, so it will be useful abroad as well.
A full list of student discounts is available on the ISIC website, where you can also find the ISIC Card Rules, or on the Alive App.
The ISIC card issued outside MU is valid until 31 December of the following year. In order to continue to benefit from its benefits, you must have a current revalidation stamp on your card (valid only until the end of 2024) or have your card renewed electronically in the Alive App. Revalidation can be ordered via the IS MU Business Centre. Revalidation is always valid until the end of December of the following year.
