University measures taken regarding COVID-19
- MU is operating following the university traffic-light system. The risk assessment level is currently RED.
- All buildings are closed to the public, employees, and students. Buildings are only accessible to facility and laboratory management staff, to people who ensure remote classes, and to students of programmes for which the government has allowed in-person classes or exams.
- Most examinations will be administered online. A maximum of 10 people can take in-person exams at once.
- Most EU nationals must enter the country with a negative test or get tested upon arrival. See details for students and employees and current restrictions in force in the Czech Republic due to the state of emergency.
- Students and employees must report if they have tested positive for COVID-19 or been required to go into quarantine.
- People with symptoms of infectious viral infections are prohibited from entering MU buildings. If you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, use this app.
Important information
On 2 September a traffic-light rating system was introduced at MU. The university currently has a “red light” rating, determined by the MU Crisis Board. University faculties, institutes, and offices may declare a higher alert level than the university-wide level or introduce stricter rules than elsewhere at the university. Follow the websites of individual faculties and the colour-coded signs hanging on the exteriors of MU buildings.

Masaryk University offers its laboratories for coronavirus research free of charge
CEITEC Masaryk University is offering priority access, free of charge, to their equipment in shared laboratories including research expertise for research that may lead to the development of a vaccine or drug against COVID-19.

CEITEC MU laboratories receive official permission to perform coronavirus testing
Three Masaryk University laboratories were set aside for possible coronavirus testing.

Exam period extended through the summer. Autumn semester to start later
The exam period for spring semester 2020 is extended and exams will be held from May 18 to September 30. The faculties are also recommended to offer students the September dates of the final state exams.

The university will be without contact teaching until at least mid-May
Today, the rector of Masaryk University Martin Bareš has decided to extend the measures that were taken in order to prevent the spreading of coronavirus.
