Restrictions will begin to be eased on Thursday 3 December, shops, restaurants and services will reopen

As of Thursday 3 December, Czech Republic will move from fourth level to the third level of the governmental anti-epidemic system PES and restrictions will begin to be eased in the Czech Republic as epidemic slows down. Read below what will change as of Thursday.

As of Thursday 3 December, these restrictions will be in place:

  • In-person teaching for first-year students at universities will be allowed. Students will get more details after MU Crisis Board meeting this week. Please wait for details from your faculties.
  • Night curfew from 11 pm to 5 am will be no longer in place.
  • The ban of free movement of people will no longer be in effect.
  • Restaurants and other catering services will be opened till 10 pm, there will be a limitation of a maximum of 4 persons per table and a maximum 50 % of occupancy. Alcohol consumption at a publicly accessible location will no longer be prohibited.
  • Shopping centres will be opened. There will be a limitation of the number of persons (1 person per 15 m 2 operating area), 2 m distance between customers. Organisational and hygienic measures will be in place as well as queue management inside and outside. Restriction of food courts to service windows only, children’s corners closed. Shops can be open on Sundays.
  • Services will be opened, following hygienic measures.
  • Large events in indoor and outdoor premises (incl. wellness centres, swimming pools) will be limited to 50 persons outdoors, 10 indoors.
  • Indoor sports grounds will be allowed for individual sports with up to 10 persons. The sport will be permitted outdoors, always with only 2 teams/groups.
  • Museums and galleries will be opened with 25 % capacity.
  • Libraries will be opened with a limited number of persons (1 person per 15 m 2 operating area), 2 m distance between customers. Organisational and systemic measures will be in place.
