University measures taken regarding COVID-19
- MU is operating following the university traffic-light system. The risk assessment level is currently WHITE. It is not compulsory to wear respirators in all MU buildings.
- All covid-19 policies related to entering the country have been suspended. See also current restrictions in the Czech Republic.

MU is operating following the university traffic-light system. The university currently has a “WHITE LIGHT” rating, determined by the MU Crisis Board. University faculties, institutes, and offices may declare a higher alert level than the university-wide level or introduce stricter rules than elsewhere at the university. Follow the websites of individual faculties and the colour-coded signs hanging on the exteriors of MU buildings.

Fourteen experts from Masaryk University appointed professors
Appointment decrees were presented to 91 new professors and associate professors by the President of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel, on 1 June in the Great Hall of the Karolinum.

MU deepens cooperation with the University of Tartu
During a visit to Estonia, Masaryk University and the University of Tartu signed a Strategic Partnership Agreement. Masaryk University also honored its partner institution with the MU Gold Medal.

Karola Dillenburger has been awarded this year’s MUNI Award in Science and Humanities and Masaryk University has awarded a further thirteen MASH StG/CoG grants to promising researchers.

Dies academicus 2026: MU highlighted the importance of education, cooperation and human rights
The traditional academic ceremony, combined with the presentation of the MU Rector’s Awards and MU medals, took place on 21 May in the Karel Engliš Great Hall at the Faculty of Law.
