The project provides a theoretical and empirical analysis in the aimed field based not only on our own knowledge and the information acquired, but mainly on the sociological research carried out in selected Czech prisons focusing on chosen groups of women, which will be compared with delinquent and non delinquent women population. The topic will aim at legal attitudes and value orientations of delinquent women, the acceptation of social norms by sentenced women, differences in mechanisms of social control in relation in sex /gender/ and specific form of women's socialization. Special attention will be paid to juvenile women and women of Roma origin because of their specific situation. The final outcome of the research will be summarized in a monography. The project will also include an international conference "Woman and illegal behaviour", with published collection of papers.
