The Grant Agency of Masaryk University includes not only the support of scientists, but also the support for student research projects and scientific conferences. It also includes the MUNI Award for excellent researchers from abroad while offering sufficient financial support and facility.
We conduct bibliometric services using specialized analytical tools and various data sources. We use metrics responsibly. Our services are available to all Masaryk University units and also other research organizations. Following the individual requirements, we deliver analyses paying respect to specifics of particular research area.
The International Scientific Advisory Board provides us with very welcome feedback. The ISAB helps MU establish research priorities, develop scientific strategies and boost international cooperation.
Masaryk University's cutting-edge equipment and state-of-the-art laboratories at the Department of Archaeology and Museology Interdisciplinary centre are frequented by both Czech and international archaeologists. The department's crucial importance for history and culture studies is evidenced by the fact that MU is also the seat of the oldest UNESCO Chair on Museology and World Heritage in the world.
Cybersecurity research conducted at the Institute of Computer Science focuses on critical issues addressed by both the Sustainable Development Strategy of the Czech Republic and the European Secure Societies challenge. And thanks in part to the MU Faculty of Law, Czech Republic is a world leader in cybersecurity legislation.
The four-volume monograph Vegetation of the Czech Republic is just one of the results achieved by the Department of Botany and Zoology. We also issue expert opinions utilized by the European Environment Agency to improve the European habitat classification system.
Our scientists have achieved success at national and international levels. In addition to issuing a wide range of significant scientific publications, we regularly organize seminars and lectures on science and research conducted at MU.
Access to central laboratories equipped with unique instruments is provided to other university units as well as other academic workplaces and even private companies.
MU Research infrastructures are an important pillar of research and innovation systems.
Their significance is emphasized by our participation in 15 projects listed in the Czech National Roadmap for Large RDI Infrastructures.
Nine of these projects are also part of research infrastructures of pan-European interest included in the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI) for 2016.
