The workshop provides systematic guidance on how to prepare authentic communication for conversational analysis and how to look at it under different pragma-linguistic and conversational aspects, also multimodal. The respective relevant basic concepts will be elaborated and supplemented by practical exercises. Starting with the basic concepts of conversation analysis (CA), CA-categories, analytical criteria, in consideration of different pragma-linguistic theories, we are going to describe the pragma-linguistic units and conversational structures sequentially, to analyse, interpret them in depth and reflect the process and analytical mentality of CA. In doing so, it will be shown which different levels of meaning constitution are dealt with by participants in conversation (e.g. organization of the change of speaker, constitution of action) and how they are sequentially co-constructed. The workshops offer insights into different procedures and provide suggestions for one's own research practice. The seminar places particular emphasis on examining the fields of analysis of communication teaching-and-learning-context and in digital media. It is welcome to work on data from among the participants in the workshop by prior arrangement.
