| Popis | The paper is devoted to the panel painting of the Hodegetria located in the church of saints Peter and Paul in Galata (Istanbul) and provides a joint investigation of textual sources and visual evidence in order to shed light on the genesis of the icon, the trasformations which it underwent over the centuries and its role in the Dominican and Christian community of Istanbul in the Ottoman age. |
