Popis The article contains the description of the locality of the Elsterian glaciofluvial sediments (Buková sandpit), which no longer exists. Trough cross-stratified sand and overlying massive and stratified gravel were revealed in the sandpit. These sediments showed abrupt coarsening-up trend, which is reflecting the rapid change from low- to high-energy facies associations. Both facies associations are divided by erosional contact between these facies (erosional basis of the overlying gravel association). The facies trend and limitation of the sedimentary basin by the bedrock elevations are the basis of interpretation. Sandy sediments probably filled preglacially originated depressions on ice base; gravelly sediments were accumulated on terminoglacial outwash plain restricted by the slopes of preglacial relief and by the front of glacier. In addition, the features associated with permafrost and loess-like sediments were revealed in the sandpit.
