| Popis | The lecture "Characteristics of Czech Phonetics and Related Issues" was aimed at Chinese students majoring in Czech at Shanghai International Studies University. I handled some important attributes of Czech pronunciation, the consonant and vowel system, the system of Czech phonemes, the use of the International Phonetic Alphabet symbols, etc. I discussed the difficulties for Chinese students when they learn Czech pronunciation. These were assimilation of consonants, consonant clusters and pronunciation of foreign words. The lecture allowed Chinese students to better understand the Czech pronunciation system and related major issues. |
