After establishing the power structure, the Soviet bloc was suppressing internal as well as international opposition. In this acting it produced standardized ways of explanation in official historical textbooks serving to political propaganda. The main aim of this paper was to provide textual analysis of an example of one such normative historical text and to describe: A) general textual tools of political propaganda with a special focus on: B) textual or pragmatic tools affecting emotions on the side of readers and potential audience. The set of identified tools or markers includes: A) I. Untrue statements; II. Intentional absence of references; III. Use of political terminology; B) IV. Intentional use of irony often indicated by quotation marks; V. Incorporation of terms and words with terminologically positive vs. negative meaning accompanied by VI. Highly emotionally colored terms [often also usen in religious texts] with the purpose to: 1) stimulate emotional tensions in the recipient for 2) more easy persuasion or manipulation.
