Popis The work was focused on monitoring the relationship of exposure of pregnant women to CNS drugs with a focus on antidepressants to clinical outcomes of pregnancy. The work presents an overview of the most commonly used antidepressant drugs in clinical practice in pregnant women, based on the literature review of the literature. The method of a retrospective observational study was used at the Department of Internal Medicine at the Teching Hospital Nitra, Slovak Republic, based on data from a clinical pharmacist, the study included 32 pregnant women who met the inclusion criteria. The evaluated outcomes were a healthy newborn (ZN), illness of the newborn (CHN), congenital defect or malformation (VV), spontaneous abortion (SP), unspecified information about newborn (NI). In 16 patients, not a single case of congenital malformation was observed at the start of pharmacotherapy with at least one ATC group of the N-Central Nervous System or a combination. Teratogenicity and risk for the fetus depended mainly on the dose and duration of drug administration. Based on the performed literature search and professional sources, drugs from the SSRI group belong to the relatively safest ones, except the riskiness of some types of drugs from the group of antidepressant agents.
