"Retailization" of Private Equity (Funds)

Retail investors have – more and more – interest in investing in private equity, esp. through professionally managed funds. However, current regulations in principle prohibit distribution of such investments to them. It is mainly open to "sophisticated" investors. The researcher attempts to specify reasons that predetermine particular needs to prohibit such distribution, identify protection instruments for retail investors, and mainly conclude whether or not identified instruments are effective.
