Popis Disinformation quickly became one of the salient and most discussed issues in the field of (political) communication. Rapid development and changes in the information environment are accompanied by users' uncertainties and lack of media literacy which present vital condition for spreading false information. The outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic gave rise to the phenomenon which the WHO calls 'infodemic'–a wide and rapid spread of misinformation and disinformation. Thus, the paper aims to identify and analyze the main stories of mis/disinformation spread among people. The analysis is based on comparison of 27 national case studies and communication of two supranational (WHO and EU) organizations. Results show differences among countries in ability and speed of tackling and response to false information spread (mostly) on social media, as well as differences on actors (governments or NGO's) active in debunking them.
